Liz Varga is Director of the Complex Systems Research Centre, Cranfield University. She has a professional track-record in information technology management consultancy in and between local authorities. Her roles have always been at management level, setting strategic or transformational agendas, and implementing change, projects include: design, development, implementation and support of ICT systems in private sector at ICL/Fujitsu; demutualisation of a private life assurance organization. Her clients are all, directly and indirectly, related to adaptation and critical infrastructure and include: UK Government departments - DfT, DEFRA, BIS; Charities - Institute for Sustainability; Engineering - Arup, Ecotricity, MDST, IBM WPD (Western Power Distribution); National corporations - Network Rail, National Grid; Lobby/coordination groups - ARCC-CN, UKCIP, RSSB.
