About the Author:

Primarily a fiction writer, Mader also writes nonfiction and music. He began his professional writing career at age fourteen as a sportswriter in San Diego. Mader is a graduate of the Creative Writing program at San Francisco State and an avid flash fiction fanatic. He is a father and a teacher when he isn't writing or sleeping.

Mader is an award winning short story writer and author of the acclaimed novels Joe Café, along with the 'Matt Stark' series, several collections of short stories, a book about pregnancy (yup, you read that right), and a book about "fishing for beginners." And one romance. (Not that kind of romance.) He has also been lucky enough to collaborate with some amazing writers and is included in several anthologies. Check out jdmader.com for stories. Follow JD on twitter - @jd_mader

"Mader writes like a reincarnation of David Goodis, in a story of relentless action permeated with deep and perverse sorrow, that sucks the reader into the darkness of a noir San Francisco. The Biker is about revenge and the camaraderie of the damned -- Mader's hero, Matt Stark, is a loner vigilante who makes Jack Reacher seem kind of preppie. Moving towards an inevitable showdown, Stark makes some great wry wisecracks and is always filled with outsider despair." James Warner, Author of All Her Father's Guns
