From the Author:
As a certified Emotional Intelligence consultant and a ICF certified Executive Coach I am fascinated by the impact that Emotional Intelligence has on all aspects of our lives, and realized how helpful it is for clients to develop their EQ skills and abilities. This book - "Mind over Matter: The Power of Emotional Intelligence" is the result of my experience and research on the nature of Emotional Intelligence. It is via better self-awareness of our emotions and those of others that we can optimize our communication, personal balance, empathy and very significantly our relationship strategies with all those we meet.
My explorations reveal that it is when we are under stress that we revert to behaviors that protect our emotional well-being, and while these reactions can serve us well- as adults they frequently no longer do so. Emotions are an integral part of who we are. With Emotional Intelligence we are able to take back control of our emotions and thinking -rather than be their prisoner - and thereby improve all our relationships.
My background includes several Masters' degrees and a Doctorate in Behavioral Sciences. I worked in senior government positions with the European Union for many years, and also held senior executive positions with a US corporation. After some re-direction I qualified as a psychotherapist, consultant and coach.
It is my fervent wish that you will find this an empowering and timely book that adds value to your lives.
