The mind is a strange bag of tricks. Not only is it capable of recording accurately the input of all five senses simultaneously, it is capable of fabricating visual imagery if the recordings of the eyegate are not sustainable over a long period of time. It is a fact that with the passage of time some elements of visual imagery, whether real or surreal, have a tendency to fade and blur to the point where sharply focused recall is not always an option. On the other hand, it can take the flashed recall of just a partial prior image and, if one's value system does not interpose unrealistic parameters of accuracy, germinate and grow to the point of total departure from the actuality of the original happening. These opening words are not a new revelation in the field of recall: they serve as the pulpit from which to declare that the stories contained in this book are true, as stored in my memory. Fortunately, "our" memories do include frequent references to a penciled daily diary my spouse maintained during our terms of overseas ministry. Many of these stories have been shared scores of times over the years, and I have constantly endeavored to prevent the mind from adding "color" to my black and white recollections. In this writing I shall continue to suppress the human urge to amplify, for the accounts as they actually happened are in themselves exciting enough to justify this book.

Armed with little more than a pilot's license and an intense desire to serve humanity, Charlie Hinson leaves the Florida Panhandle and lands in the humid jungles of Southeastern Liberia, West Africa. A missionary pilot has been killed, and if someone does not fi ll his shoes quickly, several mission stations located in the impenetrable interior will have to be closed, including, but not limited to a leprosy hospital caring for almost 600 patients. At 24 years old, and with his wife expecting a second child, he finds that survival does not depend solely on his skills as a pilot, but are totally dependent on Divine Miracles. They come, every time one is needed. This book relates the true story of Charlie and Elaine Hinson in their fl ying quest to make a difference in the lives of tens of thousands hidden under the green canopy that blankets this hot and humid outpost near the equator. Finding that Miracles are the norm for those who believe, "It's Time For A Miracle" captures more than fifty years of ministry spanning fi ve countries.
