This resource is the quickest guide to increasing your child's non-fiction reading comprehension level. Have you ever heard of the Fourth Grade Slump? Well it’s real and this workbook is one of the cures. The Fourth Grade Slump occurs because around fourth grade kids begin to make the transition from learning to read to reading to learn. Kids are expected to know more and more information, retain that information, and answer multiple choice questions based off of what they have read. Now we want to put the child in the driver seat. This book guides kids in how to ask questions using the title and illustration on the cover. It puts the child in charge of figuring out what words are unknown and how to pay attention to their meaning while reading. How many kids go to the table of contents to read it? Well, now they will have a reason. If they turn the heading into a question, then their question has a greater chance of getting answered in that section. Each child will learn how to answer questions developed by the test makers effectively with the tools in this book. Quadruple retention with these tips and you will significantly set up the child for non-fiction reading success. Here is what you can expect from using this book. 1. Increase Non-fiction reading levels 2. Increase Reading Comprehension 3. Retain more information over time 4. Become a better reader Overall your child will be able to utilize the skills that she learns in this book to study skills that will help her master any subject. Your child will learn how to study the most important information and teach that information to another individual. Teaching concepts to another person has been one of those skills that will help with retention of the content learned. By using the information in this book you will be able prepare your child's brain for information she is going to learn in class. Many teachers assign a passage to be read for homework, the child reads it, and usually the child forgets most of the information that she has learned. The tools in this book will help your child with being able to remember what is read and being able to ask high level questions during class that will increase the level of understanding your child has about the content being learning.
