Alec Owens created Flydoodle Science (flydoodlescience.com) in 2009, when he was just 9 years old. After his own frustrating experiences of asking his mother questions about the world and getting answers back from her such as "I don't know" or "no one knows the answer to that" he decided to take matters into his own hands and get the answers himself. He knows there are millions of other kids and parents out there who deal with the same frustration. He wants Flydoodle Science to be a place where anyone can ask him their science question and he'll answer it for them in a video.
Now at 13 years old, he is an author of two books, "Do Birds Fart?" (on Amazon Best Sellers List in Children's Zoology section) and "What Does Outer Space Smell Like?" (on Amazon Best Sellers List in Space Science, Children's Astronomy, and Physics sections) and is currently working on writing 6 more books. Each book answers 50 questions that most kids often wonder about and many parents have a tough time answering. They also dispel commonly held myths and misconceptions. He wants to make sure that his generation grows up with the correct answers to life's questions. "There's nothing worse than walking around thinking that you know something based on what you were told early on in life only to find out years later that it was never true. I think a lot of people will be surprised at some of the answers to the questions in my books." His books are available through Amazon.
Alec the Science Kid is an eighth grader and currently lives in Peoria, Arizona with his mother, Rachel, and his 4 year old sister, Cali.
