Diasporic literature can not shy away from sexuality and ecology of a particular cultural space. Due to different sexuality and ecology of the host land, the migrants often feel at a loss regarding their continuity with their native culture or acculturation with the host culture. This results in myriads of pain and trauma of the migrants. However, their traumas are more linked with their ambition and its fulfillment. The present book makes an endeavour to delve deep into the inherent sexuality, ecology, pain and ambition in the works of Jhumpa Lahiri and Margaret Wilson whom I have categorized as Diasporic writers in their own context. The book is planned in five chapters along with a bibliography. The first chapter “Introduction” deals with the biographical details and the literary career of Jhumpa Lahiri and Margaret Wilson. The second chapter “Treatment of Sexuality”, apart from dealing with the conceptualization of sexuality, discusses the treatment of sexuality in the select works of the writer chosen for the study. The third chapter “Treatment of Ecology” presents the importance of geographical surroundings in the life of men and how it shapes their act and behavior. The fourth chapter “Metaphors of Pain and Ambition” casts light on the inherent trauma of people living away from their home in pursuits of their dream and ambition, and the fifth chapter is a conclusion where I have endeavoured to synthesize the ideas discussed in the previous chapters.
