Larry David, Sr. was born in Detroit, Michigan November 9, 1948. His parents were seventeen years old and uneducated. His father was a first generation Mexican American. His mother’s father was English. By fourth grade Larry was diagnosed with dyslexia and kicked out of school. His mother took him to tutors and a special school for learning disabilities so that he could learn to read. March 25, 1966 he was married and on October 29, 1966 he and his wife had a son. It was a life changing event that prompted him to join the Army in 1968 to open doors to opportunity. He took basic training at Fort Knox Kentucky and graduated top of his class before volunteering to go to Vietnam. His experience in the service did not benefit him upon returning home. Larry decided to enter the world of marijuana smuggling to support his family and was very successful. His adventures are written in detail in his first book, “The Marijuana Smuggler’s Guide: How I Got Here”. He has also written a fictional love story, “Dr. Gina’s Diary” and hopes to have it ready for publishing by spring 2013. He is presently writing a science fiction story about the government trading people to aliens for technology. Larry is a born leader and when he’s not writing he enjoys skiing, hunting, and traveling to places he has never been.
