The Phrase-By-Phrase Harmony of the Gospels, building on the foundation of centuries of great Bible scholarship, is a brand new approach to studying the events of the gospels in detailed chronological order. Rather than presenting entire passages from synoptic accounts in whole paragraphs, this harmony permits the reader to compare each fact and detail side by side. With its friendly, graphical layout – beneficial for the average small group Bible study – this book is also sufficiently technical for use as a supplemental reference in any college-level course on the gospels. The Phrase-By-Phrase Harmony is a versatile tool: a handy reference for pastors and teachers, or a devotional guide in daily Bible reading. - Modular Design: Focuses the reader's attention on one event per section. - Graphical Timeline included on every section: helps the reader to keep track of what happened before and what's coming up. - Chronological Notes: Insightful commentary on the historical or cultural significance of all time references. - Geographical Notes with Map included on every section: Helps reader keep track of where each event occurs. Historical and archaeological notes are provided wherever applicable. - Blended Narrative: This account, in readable modern language, contains every factual detail of all four gospels, in chronological order. - Phrase-by-Phrase Harmonized Table in each Section: allows reader to compare every phrase of scripture from all four gospels at a glance. Bolded and italicized typefaces indicate time and geography references. - Author's Commentary is provided wherever clarification of difficult or problematic texts is necessary.
