I’d like to introduce you to a group of women that would have made headlines in our time just as they did in the one they lived in. There names, most, seem common enough but their deeds would help shape the faith of many men and women seeking Christ. One would be the first to take a city as a prophetess and judge; the other would be a fan of new age tabloids: “First woman trades female freedoms for an apple,”victim’s response: “He was so convincing, that snake!” The other would be a prostitute who won favor with Israel becoming the great great grandmother of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Yet another would one would suffer from the shame and pain of incest even as royalty behind palace doors. Another would find herself at the feet of Jesus in praise... when nothing matters but the Master‘s feet powerful things will happen. Still another would marry a fool (classic tale) only to be swept off her feet by a king in wait. Lastly a woman with health issues who dared a possible restraining order from Jesus’ disciples for reaching down and out for healing. Introduction: Deborah; Eve; Rahab; Tamar; Alabaster box; Abigail (Nabal’s wife) and the woman with the issue of blood. Finding ourselves in the scriptures allows us to understand not only their times but also the seasons and wisdom in our own. Join me as we venture into the good, bad and ugly of some of the women of God; those that knew they need not be perfect but perfected by the love of God to enter into his eternity. The journal entry pages are to be used as a written album of discovery, revelation, scriptures and inspired thoughts. Let God show you like these women, how extraordinary your are!
