Most people shopping for a Monopoly strategy book really just want a list rather than a strategy book; a list of properties that have the highest probability of being landed on. Many books offer such a list, but this one does not. Although probability has its advantages, relying heavily on it has drawbacks. First, it takes a lot of luck to acquire these properties, and luck is not a strategy. It takes luck to land on the right one, luck to trade with someone by talking them into the deal, and luck to compete with other players for it while trading or in an auction. Second, every game is different. If you're lucky enough to acquire some of these properties, there's no guarantee players will land on them very often in your current game. And third, if someone else acquires a monopoly before you do, you're screwed! It won't matter how many of these "magic" properties you own! You see, while you're busy trying to be lucky enough to get some of these properties, another player, more sneaky than you, will be slowly gaining control of the board, ultimately acquiring monopolies while preventing others from doing so. That is what this book is about. How good will your list look then? There is more to Monopoly than probability. Many of the strategies in this book will be helpful no matter which properties you end up stuck with! And sometimes, games over are fast, not long and drawn-out. Probability isn't very useful then. This book will teach you how to win that way. The 18 strategies in this book were created to hunt down and eliminate luck from your game as much as possible, and to allow you to win as close to 100% of the time as the dice will allow. This book will teach you how to: (1.) Take control of the board by preventing opponents from obtaining monopolies while acquiring your own. (2.) Double the amount of cash at your disposal. (3.) Become sneakier and harder to play against while identifying weaknesses in your opponents. (4.) Invest in properties that can do the greatest damage to your opponents with the least cost to you. (5.) Trade to leave opponents deep in debt with monopolies they can't afford while securing your own position. (6.) Turn-around a losing game. It was written to be fun to read and easy to understand, as well as useful for the already accomplished player.

From Kirkus Review:
"In a Gen. Patton-like voice, he declares, "Everything you know about Monopoly is probably wrong." He says that too many competitors rely on simple luck--i.e., wherever the dice take them--in a game that can only be mastered as a battle of cold, calculating, thought-out strategy, like chess...and he returns to railing against other strategy guides that discuss Monopoly in terms of probabilities and random dice throws, since his system, he says, eliminates the luck factor as much as possible."
