A conquistador from 1632 operates video equipment. A mountain man from 1824 fights a prehistoric cave bear. All they want to do is to just go home.

Helms · Served in the Navy from 1970 to 1978, on two submarines. · Editor ship’s newspaper for USS Francis Scott Key (SSBN 657) from 1974 to 1976. · Written over 20 short stories, six published. · Short Story “The Phone of Plenty” won 3rd Place in the 1993 Arizona Author’s Contest. · In 1998, science fiction novel Valhalla was published by a small publishing company. The name was changed to Not in Kansas, Anymore. · Have two other science fictions books written, a book about submarines and submariners and an autobiography. · Have several other novels started, including a sequel to Valhalla called The Straits of Hell. · Has a chapter in an anthology called Trans People in Love, published by Haworth Press, Inc. in 2007. · Have articles published in Echo Magazine, Southern Voice newspaper, Washington Blade newspaper, Houston Voice newspaper, Military Equality Alliance (MEA) newsletter, several blogs and Transgender Tapestry magazine. · Has a blog called “Trans Universe,” at www.monicahelms.com/blog. · Regular column in Transgender Tapestry called “. . .
