Adoptive Parent Intentional Parent: A Formula for Building and Maintaining Your Child’s Safety Net is an invaluable tool that adoptive parents will use over and over again. Whether you are in the "waiting stage" or you are two, four, six, or even ten plus years into your adoption...this book will to enable you to reframe your situation with a clear vision, new knowledge, tools that work, and the support of others who have walked the path before you. Every child who has been adopted has suffered a breech in attachment; no adopted child is exempt. In addition to attachment issues, some children also suffer with difficult behavior issues amongst diagnoses such as RAD, FAS, and those that suffer with grief, anxiety, sensory issues and the effects of trauma. The author's breakthrough concept of intentionally creating a safety net to help your child heal fills the books entirety. The four-part formula for Building and Maintaining that safety net is laid out in a detailed and user-friendly fashion. It combines the value of knowing yourself, the power of knowledge, specific tools and techniques that work in everyday life and the keys to maintaining the net over time to create a plan you can put in to motion today.

About the Author:

Stacy Manning, R.N. is a Post-Adoption Family Coach and Educator. She and her husband are raising their six teenaged children, three adopted and three biological, on a small hobby farm north of Minneapolis, MN. In the midst of homeschooling their six children, the couple has provided countless hours of respite to families of children struggling with difficult behaviors due to a variety of issues including RAD, Trauma, FAS, and grief. For years, they have walked along side a multitude of adoptive families offering encouragement, expertise, and a hand up. In hopes of helping more families, Stacy created Hope Connections, LLC. in 2011. Her company provides family coaching sessions and educational workshops, sensory tools, and a hands-on learning system designed by Stacy along with a monthly newsletter packed with helpful tidbits. Stacy specializes in empowering parents to be the healing force their child needs with education, support, and tools to use in everyday life. Stacy works one-on-one with families across the United States, coaching them via phone, Skype, or in person, teaches workshops/webinars, and offers training to families in the process of adoption. Stacy is an exciting speaker that relates to her audience, not only from her innate understanding of how to work with hurt children and her vast knowledge base, but also from her passionate vow to never let any family feel alone on the journey. Her belief is that adoptive parents are their child's best chance at healing and her goal is to teach them how to be intentional parents who are armed with the specific knowledge and tools they need to best help their child. The past twelve years have provided Stacy the opportunity to fine-tune a powerful formula that has offered many adoptive families the peace and healing they are searching for. This innovative new formula combines removing hurdles, acquiring a new clarity, "in the moment" tools and techniques that work, and a plan to nurture hope for the long, arduous journey to a place we call secure attachment. This formula is like nothing you have tried before. You do not have to do it alone. There is hope!
