Educated as a graphic designer, employed as a media producer, Mambo is Patricia Scheu, graphic designer, media producer and ordained priest of Haitian Vodou. At one time a multi-media producer for ABC in Philadelphia, Scheu moved into smaller productions and meeting design in order to accommodate a life changing medical diagnosis in her family. A search for an explanation brought a crisis of faith that ultimately lead to Haiti and the sacred djevo of initiation into Vodou. Mambo was baptized into the Haitian Vodou faith in 2002 and initiated as a priest in 2003 in Haiti. She was crowned Bon Mambo Vye Zo Komande LaMenfo daGinen (Old Bones Commands with a Strong Hand of Ginen). Mambo returned to the USA, to continue her magical studies under Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki of the Channel Islands, England and Gro Mambo Shakmah Windrum of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She continued her education in Vodou by assisting at services with Bon Houngan Edgar Jean Louis of Belair, Haiti and Bon Houngan Lazireau Lerine of LaFond, Haiti. Mambo raised La Sosyete Du Marche in 2004 with her husband, also an asogwe priest and incorporated it in 2007. Today, Sosyete du Marche, Inc. is a federally recognized 501c3 Vodou Church operating in Southeastern Pennsylvania. They hold monthly services, perform charity work, and lecture throughout the area on Vodou, Haiti, and Haitian art. Their Four Circles education program is entering its fifth year of engaging people in the beauty and knowledge of this African traditional faith. And Mambo continues to honor her vows of ordination by researching, writing and speaking about Vodou to the public. Her current book, Serving the Spirits is available through Amazon, and is the opening publication to a prepared six volume set on Haitian Vodou that will include an in-depth look at African Traditional Magic, Secret Societies in Haiti, Esotericism in the Caribbean and Herbal Gnosis as practiced throughout Haiti and the West Indies. She is a contributing author to "There is a Mystery: Esotericism, Gnosticism and Mysticism in African American Religious Experience"; editors S. Finely, M. Simon Guillory, H. Page, Jr.; Gnostica Series of Equinox Publishing, with a release date of August, 2012.
