About the Author:
Dr. David Peterson, LPC is the founder of Total Life Counseling, Inc. and Psychiatric Day Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. He has served on projects with Medical Ministry International from America to Nepal, many European nations, Central America, and Ghana. His counseling/discipleship training materials are translated into Greek, Hungarian, Polish, Spanish and Russian. He wrote Textbook for Mental Health with Robert Brown, MD and David Snyder, MD used at University of Virginia where he co-instructed the “Mental Health” course for five years. The three hour non-required course brought 300 to 500 students a semester. Dave has also authored Help from the Good Shepherd, Applying Psalm 23. Dave started and pastored two churches, and served as pastoral care minister in a third. He has a Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Liberty University. He has graduate studies in counseling from Syracuse University and Virginia Tech. Dave and Carolyn have four children and eight grandchildren. Carolyn is a Suzuki violin teacher with twenty-five students. They live on Smith Mountain Lake where they enjoy boating, skiing, fishing, hospitality, and family events. He also oil paints and golfs.
