Leah E. Daigle is an associate professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. She received her PhD in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati in 2005. Her other research interests include the development and continuation of offending and victimization across the life course. She is author of Victimology: A Text/Reader, coauthor of Criminals in the Making: Criminality Across the Life Course (2nd ed.) and Unsafe in the Ivory Tower: The Sexual Victimization of College Women, which was awarded the 2011 Outstanding Book Award by the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. In 2014, she was awarded the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies Excellence in Teaching Award.

Review:

"Crime victimization has emerged as one of the most central, timely, and critical issues to understand among policymakers, practitioners, and academics. Daigle and Muftic have crafted an excellent resource for students and professionals alike to learn about the "big picture" as well as the more detailed problems and solutions surrounding victimology. This book is approachable, digestible, and leaves the reader with a comprehensive understanding of the state of victimology - and the key areas that will increasingly become important in the future." --Kate Fox

"Victimology is an expansive field making it a challenge to cover well in a single text. Nevertheless, Daigle and Muftic, two respected and prolific researchers, have done just that with their comprehensive coverage of victimology in their new text. I find that this work offers everything one needs to gain a broad understanding about victimology in a single source. It is welcome addition to the victimology literature and a text sure to be widely used and appreciated."
