Melanie Bremner was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario Canada and is the second oldest in a family of six children. Her father is a former teacher who encouraged Melanie to read and write from a very young age. At the tender age of just seven, Melanie received her first award for a poem called "Warm Fuzzies and Cold Pricklies" that was printed up in her school newspaper. She was then given copies to proudly distribute to whomever she wanted. This was the beginning of a love affair with creative writing. As she grew older, she continued to write poetry and short stories for children and teenagers. She had a few poems published with various publications as well as a short story accepted for an edition in "Chicken Soup for the Soul". As life progressed, matters came along that drew her away from her writing and it wasn't until self publishing became a possibility that she found her way back to the writing world. Melanie is hoping to share some of her works both in the non fiction and fiction genres with all those who love to both learn and explore.
