I've got the best seat in the house for catching the latest Waytown action. And what I don't see, I generally hear about. The town folk know they're always welcome to stop by the front porch for a chat with Granny--that's me. Young, old, or somewhere in between, it seems people like hearing more about our town. My kin have lived here in Waytown for many a generation, so I've got quite a bit to talk about. But to tell the truth, it's not so much that I'm a humdinger of a storyteller. Nope. It's the folks around here themselves that'll keep you in stitches. Whoever said life is stranger than fiction sure wasn't barking up the wrong tree. Now some uppity folks might call the sharing of these stories gossip, but I like to think of it as Waytown history. I'd call it providing a service to the community by preserving some of the more interesting anecdotes. So as long as you've stopped by my front porch, why don't you go right ahead and pull up a chair? Pour yourself a nice tall glass of sweet tea from the pitcher over there on the table. I've got nothing better to do at the moment than to keep rocking and to keep talking.
