Be careful who your friends are. It's the dawn of social media; Facebook is unknown and World of Warcraft is the world's biggest online game. An unhinged Internet magnate is trying to take over it all, using Clamor.us, a social network primed to have its stock market debut. But nefarious adult content is invading the Clamor.us site, pointing to sex trafficking. Enter Natalie Chevalier, glamorous ex-Head of Security at a large Seattle software company ... with a father she barely knew, a disastrous track record with men and a scandal that forced her from her old job. Part digital thriller, part dark fairy tale, The Woman Who Stopped Traffic will keep you on the edge of your seat - while revealing deeper truths of our times.

Growing up in Nottinghamshire - beside Sherwood Forest - Daniel Pembrey loved to invent stories. Some Daniel wrote down... but before he knew it, a business career had taken over: financial analysis, an MBA and ten years spent in the business development team of a US West Coast Internet company. These experiences would provide settings and ideas for his fiction. Daniel is most drawn to psychological suspense stories, especially those with a strong sense of location. He has set stories in Silicon Valley and Seattle, South Carolina and Luxembourg. Inspirations include D.H. Lawrence, Raymond Chandler and mystery writer Tony Hillerman. In 2008, he was awarded a residency at the Helene Wurlitzer Artists' Foundation in Taos, New Mexico. When he is not writing, he loves to read, travel and meet interesting new people. He occasionally writes non-fiction articles for The (London) Times, and he is on Twitter, @DPemb.
