From the outside, Russell and his wife, Connie appear to be a happy, loving couple with two children. Behind closed doors, Connie physically and mentally abuses her husband. Determined to keep his marriage together, Russell accepts the abuse until Connie loses her temper and causes a car accident that threatens the couple’s lives. In that moment, Russell sees his life flash before him and their children having to grow up without parents. The accident leaves Connie with the more serious injuries. While she is recovering, Russell divorces her. He believes his nightmare is over, and he’s safe until he begins to reclaim his life and Connie needs his help. Based on his decision, it could throw him back into the abusive relationship he fought so hard to leave.
