Raymond Lynn Zimmermann has spent a lifetime advising and counseling, from the ministry to the university level. He advised students in the College of Business at Texas A&M for 25 years before “retiring” and advising students another 10 years at Blinn College at its campuses in Bryan and Brenham, Texas. He received the prestigious Faculty/Staff Distinguished Achievement Award in Student Relations from the TAMU Association of Former Students in 1996. Lynn also edited a College of Business publication, The Texas Business Executive, for 10 years. Starting off his professional life as an ordained Lutheran minister and serving congregations for 10 years before becoming a supply preacher, Lynn eventually began working at other pursuits, including his college advising career. Lynn received a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Lutheran College in 1953, a Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary in 1957 and a Master of Education from Texas A&M University in 1977. Lynn’s passion for many years has been getting groups of singers together to form choirs, including student choirs at Texas A&M and Blinn.
