An artifact is stolen from a sunken German battleship. An object of Patriotic pride is swapped for a forgery. Four pieces of military history are not what they seem. There are more questions than answers. The case is dropped on a police detective's lap after he investigates arson at a metallurgical casting company, and finds there is more there than charred bones and burned building. While investigating these crimes, Bruce Jorgensen will have to travel to Virginia several times in an effort to pull all the loose threads together while trying to rescue his girlfriend from the clutches of a man that has killed mercilessly in the past. The story escalates as they confront one another with innocent lives in the balance.

About the Author:
Steven R. Kahler has been a life-long resident of south central Pennsylvania. Born in Harrisburg, his family shortly moved to northern York County where he was raised. It was there that Steve earned the rank of Eagle Scout and participated in the high school music and theater programs. After marrying and moving to Lancaster County he became involved with Civil War reenacting on an artillery detachment and then once more became involved in the scouting program. It was here that he filled the position of Cubmaster and then Scoutmaster at the local church. Steve is an ardent member of his local congregation, participating in both the service and the choir. He has made several trips to Canada for week-long canoeing trips and hiked several sections of the Appalachian Trail. He also helps train adult leaders in his local Boy Scout Council and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. At one point in his life Steve was a fire department station lieutenant and battalion chief of a search and rescue unit. Was a member of a local sports car club and worked timing and scoring at local events and Summit Point Raceway. Besides writing, Steve is an avid reader. His favorite authors are David Baldacci, Lee Child, Clive Cussler, and Robert B. Parker. Steve would love to retire to a cabin in the woods with a sparking lake for a front porch.
