Broken by secrets, united by blood.
As a terrifying alien armada invades the galaxy, Amanda Santiago seeks refuge with her parents and their powerful friends. Unaware of her brother's ability to create gravity bridges, she doesn't suspect the investigator who appears at their doorstep to question her. Secretly seeking to avenge the death of his father, Lodoxol son of Perymdak makes a wicked return disguised as the investigator and reveals Amanda's power to draw forth any object's point in time--including its state of utter decay.
Acting quickly, Lodoxol kidnaps Amanda to his star cruiser, prompting her parents to begin a desperate search. While he works to poison her against her brother, adventure finds them both as they fend off murderous pirates and explore the enigmas of an ancient world.
When word of Amanda's kidnapping reaches her brother, Gavin and the crew of the Sanguine Shadow begin to plan her rescue. As they uncover the pieces of a sweeping, sinister plan hatched by Lodoxol and his allies to wipe out all human life in the galaxy, Captain Ibarra calls upon the Union's space fleet to get involved. The mystery deepens, however, when an ancient race of living starships joins the fight, coming to Lodoxol's aid.
Three stories converge for the climax, as the light of humanity hangs in the balance. With the odds stacked against them, will Gavin's and Amanda's extraordinary powers be enough to save mankind from extinction? Even if they can stop Lodoxol in time, a new age of superpowers is dawning, one which the benevolent Union is ill-prepared to face.

This is the second book in my first science fiction series - Voyage of the Sanguine Shadow. While the tone of Shadow Galactic was more youthful, the characters less certain of the path before them, Shadow Divided takes a much darker and more mature turn. While uncovering the mysteries behind the villains' plans, the characters' path becomes clear, and courage is put to the test.About the Author:
Erik Harlow was born in 1975 in Southern California and was raised on heaping plates of Star Trek and Get Smart. While this led to severe malnourishment, it left a lasting impact on his imagination and his desire to cook food. He's done some stage acting, played bass for the now defunct rock band Manic Automatic (R.I.P.), and presently works as a project manager for AdColony. He resides in the darkest alleys of the ever sunny San Fernando Valley with his wife and children, his dog and his cats.
When he's not fighting traffic or begging for loose change, Erik spends his time writing fantasy and science fiction novels. He's written all the quests for JIRBO's Sovereign: Kingdoms, and has been running a Saturday game group for 13 years.
