A Squeaky Wheel Gets Oiled - The Musical is an expanded version of the original play "A Squeaky Wheel Gets Oiled" published by Black Box Theatre. The musical version takes the original character Spare Wheel on a musical journey of song and dance to obtain some much needed oil during the time of the Great Oil Drought. Along the way, we meet his wife Spare Wheel and daughter Cart Wheel. His evil antagonists who are usurping all the oil include Big Wheel, Ferris Wheel, the Wheel Barrows, Big Top, Spinning Wheel and the Bank Rollers. This is a mufti-generational story for all ages with delightful characters and song and dance production. Its slick metaphorical message can be enjoyed by adults of all ages without offending any group.

Brenda Duffey is a retired public high school teacher of history and English. In 2010, she achieved her retirement goal of writing a major work of historical fiction to tell the "true story" of American history. Since 2010, Ms. Duffey has explored free lance writing and recently the world of self publishing for her adolescent novella The Season and two plays. A Squeaky Wheel Gets Oiled was published by Black Box Theatre in the spring of 2012. At that time, Ms. Duffey collaborated with a songwriting friend Peter Giri to use his songs and expand the story of Spare Wheel and his quest for oil into a delightful musical suitable for all ages. Ms. Duffey resides on the central Oregon Coast where she enjoys writing, singing, dancing, tennis, cycling and kayaking. She has two biological daughters who live in Southern California and one adopted daughter who still lives in Louisville, KY where Ms. Duffey was born and where she lived until 1986.
