Synopsis

Josh did not expect much from his very first scout camp in the High Uintahs. He and his dog, a little Cocker Spaniel he called Buff, were in for a HUGE surprise. Josh was one of the youngest boys in the troop and was bullied by Clancy, the biggest scout. When his dog started to act like something had scared him, Josh told the other scouts that it must be a bear. Clancy made fun of him, which caused Josh to go off by himself. About the Author

Clair M. Poulson retired after twenty years in law enforcement. During his career he served in the US Army Military Police, the Utah Highway Patrol, and the Duchesne County Sheriff's Department, where he was first a deputy and then the county sheriff. He currently serves as a justice court judge for Duchesne County, a position he has held for over twenty years. His over forty-year career working in the criminal justice system has provided a wealth of material from which he draws in writing his books. Clair has served on numerous boards and committees over the years. Among them are the Utah Judicial Council, an FBI advisory board, the Peace Officers Standards and Training Council, the Utah Justice Court Board of Judges, as president of the Utah Sheriff's Association, and the Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice. Other interests include activity in the LDS church, assisting his oldest son in operating their grocery store, ranching with his oldest son and other family members, growing hay and pastures, raising horses, cattle, llama's, goats, alpacas, exotic sheep, and fallow deer. This is Clair's twenty sixth published novel, most of them bestsellers. Clair and his wife, Ruth, live in Duchesne and are the parents of five married children. They have twenty three grandchildren.
