Dr. Darryl Winer has published several technical papers in Journals like, Hospital and Community Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry, and the National Institute of Mental Health Program Evaluation Sourcebook when he worked for a large City/County Hospital. As Director of the City of Denver’s Utilities Division, he published many articles in both the professional journals and the lay press. He led the City’s entry into renewable energy with solar photovoltaics on several City facilities. He received numerous awards including the US EPA’s Outstanding Project of the Year and their Outstanding Partner of the Year. He was also Denver’s Employee of the Year. In 2004 Dr. Winer realized that his passion as a cook needed to be acknowledged as well and wrote a cookbook, “Bubbie’s Secrets” (c), a compendium of comfort foods, old photos, and gentle humor. His current work, “High Living Cookbook - Adult Cuisine” is an entirely new take on mainstream cooking using marijuana (cannabis). Each of his over 85 recipes can be prepared with or without marijuana. He helps educate novice cooks with general food preparation tips as well as how to use marijuana in fare fit for adults with discriminating tastes.
