He was rendered an invalid fighting for his life. He has fought hard to remove his vast number of impairments over the last 11 years. He has made an amazing remarkable recovery. Charlie started Fencing Epee at 19 and in his twenties could beat Olympians and many top Epee Fencers. He resumed fencing in 2006 with numerous impairments, and had not fenced for about 14 years. He has had limited practices and tournaments at fencing in the last seven years. He has had no coaching for 35 years. In 2012 he beat two former Olympians at the USA Nationals in Epee Fencing in his age category. “Stroke This” is his first book. “Stroke This” is a memoir account of the Stroke and his amazing recovery.
