The place of Pontius Pilate in history is assured. He has been a figure of controversy from the day he passed the sentence of death by crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Was he a man caught in a political nightmare, created by the members of the Jewish Sanhedrin, who were persecutors of Jesus and determined to see him executed? Or, was he an arrogant Roman who played to his audience on that fateful day that will forever be part of the Christian truth? Evidence of events and persons in this story is known to us, but a great deal of information and linkage of events is not known. Although this story is based on the facts as we know them, it also includes some fictional narrative that may help in bridging those gaps. Michele Italiano’s compelling account of the life of Pontius Pilate provides valuable factual insight and plausible, thought-provoking scenarios into the prodigious life and mind of this vital player in history.

MICHELE ITALIANO is the author of four novels, Vendetta, Magnetic Manila, Shot Gun Wedding and Between Two Worlds, which is an autobiographical account of his experiences as a newcomer to Australia in the 1950’s. Michele’s achievements are many and varied and include bilingual poetry, published in English and Italian. He attended the Academy of Art in Rome, which resulted from a passion and talent for writing ever since he was a small boy growing up in the green hills of Calabria, Southern Italy. He is an accomplished businessman and now, retired, spends his time with his family on the coastal regions of New South Wales, Australia. Praise for “Between Two Worlds” Extracts from Forward by E G Whitlam, QC, MP Prime Minister of Australia 1972 – 1975 “Michele Italiano’s story has given me considerable pleasure. It is a deeply personal account of the experience in Australia of an Italian migrant. The experiences Michele describes are a poignant contrast to the simple and familiar mode of life among the olive groves and green hillsides of the Calabrian town where he was born. This book should help us to a better understanding of the feelings of migrant people and difficulties they face in unfamiliar surroundings. I commend his story for its candour and humanity, and for its author’s unwavering faith in the future of his adopted country.
