Note to this Edition My translation of the Iliad first appeared in three volumes. To produce this work for Audible.com, I am required to merge the three parts and under 828 pages to compress the manuscript. In that compression the formatting was deformed, as lines of iambic pentameter did not retain their length of words. Thus this edition lacks consistent design and was not intended for readers but is only brought forth that the my translation as a recorded book be done. My resolve to write a greater Iliad in English than Homer composed in Greek is manifest. Being faithful to the most venerated text of ancient poetry, more so than Alexander Pope, I cannot choose but honor primacy. In the Museion of ancient Alexandria there was a famous wrangle between Apollonius and Kallimachos. The former said long or epic poetry was best, and the other thought only short poems could be perfect. My translation of The Iliad is comprised in 1823 short poems, 14 line sonnets, which can be perfected.
