I had my friends in mind when I first started writing The Wealth Number.
I had to find a concrete solution to the complaints they made to me about how awful their jobs were and how they wish they had the money to escape them.
As a candid friend, I told my friends that they did have the money, but only if they would make temporary lifestyle changes that would lead them to maximize their savings.
However, it was difficult to say this without showing actionable proof. I had to put what I was saying into words so they could reference and re-reference the steps that I recommended. Once I did this, they started telling me how it had helped them realize their potential.
Soon, I realized that not only did my friends suffer from such "job lock" but also a great percentage of working class citizens. The more I talked to strangers while I was on vacations, the more it would come up that they, too, hated the jobs they had. Their vacations were their escapes from the reality of their dreaded jobs. They badly wished they knew how to pursue more meaningful jobs. And I wished I had the same things that I had given to my friends, written and available to give as their guide.
Hence, I became motivated to write The Wealth Number: The Financial Solution to Pursuing the Job You'd Love for not only my friends but for anyone who needed a little help organizing their finances so that they could maximize their savings and eventually have enough money to walk away from their jobs.
I wholeheartedly believe that this book will help anyone who is motivated to leave the job they dislike so they can pursue one they would love.
