Hakim Crampton is a Mentor-Activist for at risk youth and a motivational speaker, author and award winning spoken word poet. He is the Founding Director of A.M.E.N. 4 Youth, LLC where he oversees the implementation of S.L.A.M. Lyrical Education and S.T.A.R.S. for at-risk youth. He is a Youth Violence Prevention Advocate in which he is very active across the state of Michigan in partnering with statewide organizations and groups combating violence in schools and local communities impacted by gun violence and drugs. His goal is to promote mentoring and advocate mentoring intervention for our at risk youth. Hakim is a visible entity in the Juvenile Center of Jackson County and across the State of Michigan where he mentors and speaks with incarcerated youth. Hakim can also be seen mentoring at various schools and groups of at risk youth in the Detroit public schools through Teen HYPE, as well as in Jackson area schools where his Lyrical Education program is widely used. Hakim has taken his message back into the Wisconsin Correctional system and recently spoke to a group of over 200 prisoners at Redgranite Correctional institution in honor of Crime Victim's Right week, as well as having spoken to the Challenges & Possibilities group at Green Bay Correctional Institution. Hakim Crampton is currently working with the Student Advocacy Center of Michigan in implementing their acclaimed Check & Connect academic mentoring program.
