Julian Lunden, a rather famous, adventure loving young actor who at the start of his epic kayaking trip down the rivers and waterfalls of South America and Mexico had looked to find a sense of renewal. It was a great dark adventure that he would use to promote his image as a thrill seeker, and provided a reasonable end to a love affair in which a minor starlet was hinting she might be carrying Julian’s child. He didn’t believe it. He’d felt infertile his entire life. Something happens during this trip that will change Julian’s life forever, he turns blue. From that moment on, his life begins to spiral through a series of events that will sometimes sustain Julian, and sometimes nearly kill him.

Like most authors, I have a day job. Mine is teaching, these days in Special Education. I started writing when I was seven years old, the same year I started sewing. I had a huge family and a big closet I could hide in to either read library books, write or sew on an old treadle machine that had been shoved in there. Having rather peculiar parents and a father with gold fever (translation an aversion to work), we were poor and moved a lot. Mainly I grew up in old houses in Los Angeles and Death Valley (where a rumor of gold always exists). I occasionally write short stories, which you can read on my eponymous website, and have won awards for my fabric art, also found there. I have a beautiful family, we travel a lot, especially to Mexico where my next three stories are set. Yes, I am doggedly trying to learn Spanish, which is difficult because I have my husband, the native, to step in and translate. Yes, I whitewater kayak. I love rivers, especially the Truckee and the American. Also we hike, and mountain bike. I like riding steep drops and have had my fair share of crashes. During those settled, quiet bits of time, I am either reading or writing. During every moment I feel that I have a pretty wonderful life.
