Born on the Adriatic Sea in the small village of Stikovica in Communist Yugoslavia just before World War II, Visko Njiric's world was rocked and his life forever changed when the Nazi army invaded his village and commandeered his home, leaving the family homeless and penniless, and depending on their resourcefulness and the wits of Visko and other village children to survive. Just after the devastation of the war, seven-year-old Visko had an encounter with American sailors that made him decide even at that tender age that someday, somehow he would go to America. "Unsinkable" is the amazing true story of that young boy's incredible journey to fulfill his desire to become a citizen of the United States and live his own American dream.

Terry Gray was born and reared in rural Indiana, graduating from Hagerstown High School, and earning Master of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana University. After a brief stint as a second-grade teacher, she became a stay-at-home mother to four children. Terry and her husband Kim are now empty-nesters, living in a cabin in the middle of Indiana cornfields and enjoying their family, especially their six young grandchildren. Terry's hobbies include photography, keeping up her blog www.notquitecountrygirl.com, working at her church, volunteering for the local crisis pregnancy center, beekeeping, and traveling. She and her husband have a special passion for overseas mission work, and have ongoing involvement in children's homes in both India and Kenya. Winnie first came into Terry's life when she was ten years old, marrying her father's first cousin. For many years she's heard tales of Winnie's life and thought someone should write them down. In the summer of 2014, Terry decided that "someone" was her, and so this memoir was birthed. Terry is honored to have the opportunity to share Winnie's story of hope and determination, faith in God and his "never-give-up" attitude with the world.
