M. Rhiannon Hutton, M.A.O.M., D.C.- A few months ago mom and I were collecting local wild medicinal plants for home use and she said to me that trees were the only sustainable food source. She explained that they make their own topsoil from their fallen leaves and create microclimates when planted together and much more. Just before that, I read an article about China giving away land to people who would plant tree crops in their deserts in hopes of minimizing the increasing wind and dust problems. Soon I began seeing different types of nut-meal popping up in health stores and I knew that if we could get new recipes out that many people would want to contribute to re-treeing the Earth by supporting tree crops, using foodstuffs from trees, and even planting their own food sources themselves. Traditionally, we all think of trees as a source for fruit, but we can actually get edible greens from their leaves, and all of the essential amino acids from trees like Moringa. This blog was born, in hopes of creating a worldwide initiative to leave a better world than one we started with and to allow people to maintain a healthy diet easily. Having completed my Doctorate of Chiropractic and Master of Oriental Medicine, I hope to dedicate my career to helping people, help themselves in finding true health. And, in doing so, promote world health.
