Learn about eating foods from sustainable, permaculture-based sources that heal not only the consumer, but the planet as well. Make your own nut milks, kefir, yogurt, sprouts, fruit/ vegetable chips, and delicious options for vegan/ vegetarian, sugar-free, and gluten-free recipes! Happy Tummy makes staying healthy easy with tips on how to get phytonutrients, a built-in grocery list, and recommended food proportions. You will not only get delicious & healthy recipes for every meal, but the tools you & your family need to learn the "art of cooking" for a lifetime of wellness. When I moved away to go to school, I realized I’d been watching Mom cook my whole life, and had no idea how to do it myself! I quickly tired of microwave Indian food and raw veggies and started calling her almost on a daily basis asking how she did this and how she cooked that. That was ten years ago, and I still call her almost daily, only now it’s with our tablet cameras on while we exchange flavor ideas in a creative virtual cook-off! Meanwhile she went from Soil Scientist, studying what makes the dirt our food comes from healthy, to becoming an herbalist that treats her patients with nutrition, herbs and spices. And, I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic and Master’s of Oriental Medicine. Together we have studied many facets of healthy eating and hope to provide a cookbook that not just gives you recipes, but actually teaches the reader how to create food, that not only tastes good, but feels good too. Because a Happy Tummy is a Happy Body! Here’s to your health! Marcia & Rhiannon, Mother-Daughter

About the Author:

M. Rhiannon Hutton, M.A.O.M., D.C.- A few months ago mom and I were collecting local wild medicinal plants for home use and she said to me that trees were the only sustainable food source. She explained that they make their own topsoil from their fallen leaves and create microclimates when planted together and much more. Just before that, I read an article about China giving away land to people who would plant tree crops in their deserts in hopes of minimizing the increasing wind and dust problems. Soon I began seeing different types of nut-meal popping up in health stores and I knew that if we could get new recipes out that many people would want to contribute to re-treeing the Earth by supporting tree crops, using foodstuffs from trees, and even planting their own food sources themselves. Traditionally, we all think of trees as a source for fruit, but we can actually get edible greens from their leaves, and all of the essential amino acids from trees like Moringa. This blog was born, in hopes of creating a worldwide initiative to leave a better world than one we started with and to allow people to maintain a healthy diet easily. Having completed my Doctorate of Chiropractic and Master of Oriental Medicine, I hope to dedicate my career to helping people, help themselves in finding true health. And, in doing so, promote world health. Marcia Enos, Soils and Environmental Scientist, Certified Western Herbalist - Inspired by the people that are actively making a positive difference, Rhiannon and I decided to put together a cookbook to share that inspiration. There are many things that we can do to make a difference in our environment and in our own health! We hope this book helps to inspire you!
