For that moment you cannot put in words of your own, or that memory you need to define but just don't know how. Maybe it's a sentiment that you need to express, but your pen has run out of ink. You'll never know when you will want to express that thought. It may be for a lover or just a good friend. Perhaps it is an experience that is always in your mind. In fact, you may not even know what you're feeling as you may be confused. You may just be short on words. No need to panic as you can find that special lyric right here in Feelings. The poems and pictures in this collection complement each other and express that feeling that's within, that thought lurking deep inside. Feelings is exactly what it is, expressions from deep within, words you will want to read over and over again. It's a treasury of thoughts, feelings, and expressions of love, joy, sadness, and sweet memories.

Garfield Whyte has always had a love for poetry and the environment. In his book, Feelings, he creates a perfect blend of this dichotomy as he thinks there is congruence with the environment and poetry. Some of these poems have been written as far back as the 1980s, and he has finally found the motivation and the time to make this book a reality. After graduating from Munro College in Jamaica, he went on to pursue a degree in geography, born out of his love for the environment. Later on he obtained a master's degree in business administration from the Nova Southeastern University in Florida, USA. His quest for advancement and self-actualization led him to pursue a law degree from the University of London. Professionally, he has a wealth of experience in the service industry, having worked at leading Jamaican commercial banks including Workers Bank, CIBC Jamaica Limited (now First Caribbean Bank), and Scotiabank, with his final banking position being senior marketing manager. After years of working in the banking sector, he opted for a career change by attending law school. Now a practicing lawyer, he limits his practice to real estate, probates and contract law.
