LECTURE NOTES TO ACCOMPANY THE 8-LECTURE VIDEO SERIES. Dr. William J. Neidinger has prepared an 8-lecture adult education series on video, “Is It In the Bible? Early Christian Belief & Practice.'” The series begins with an examination of the concept of the Messiah, then focuses on early ideas of the nature of Jesus and the Trinity. Subsequent lectures explore the development of the cults of the Virgin Mary, the saints and martyrs, and the basis for early teachings on morality and the sacraments. This new volume is a companion to the video series, and comprises lecture notes in outline format. Notes are illustrated with thumbnail color photos, diagrams, maps and charts referenced in the video programs. It is not a stand-alone account of Early Christian dogma, but is meant to be used as a study guide by viewers of the video series. LECTURE TITLES: 1. Who Was the Messiah Supposed to Have Been? 2. Jesus of Nazareth as God and as Man 3. The Creation of the Trinity 4. Mary: From Virgin to God-Birther to Immaculately Conceived 5. The Cult of the Saints and Martyrs 6. The Sanctification of Chastity, Virginity and Marriage 7. The Sacraments 8. Sin, Satan and Judgment
