About the Author:

Not a single day goes by that Tommy Bailey hasn’t discovered something new about himself, others, or the world at large. This is who he is; a man with an insatiable hunger for life experience. Born and raised in West Virginia, Tommy earned a BA in Park Management and his MA in Human and Organizational Communication. Though he has kept journals for as long as he can remember, he made his official debut as an author with the publication of The Appalachian Trail, Step by Step: How to Prepare for a Thru or Long Distance Section Hike (2013, Amazon). An experienced and adventurous traveler, Tommy is passionate about helping others navigate paths he’s previously taken. If he’s learned a trick or two or ten that may help others along the way, he shares it freely. Protecting Earth's natural resources and beauty is of utmost importance and the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and Nature Conservancy are two causes he adamantly supports. Ignited by his passion for universal acceptance, he is also an advocate of the SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center) a non-profit civil rights organization which teaches tolerance. Tommy’s second release, Ayahuasca (2014, Amazon), chronicles his journey to Peru to participate in an 8-Day Ayahuasca Retreat. He is also a contributing author in the upcoming Floyd Folks, a collection of heartwarming stories written by members of his community. These days, Tommy calls TreeStone Village home. It is a 20 acre homestead in Floyd County, Virginia where its residents try to do what they can in terms of living simply, sustainably, ecologically, happily and mindfully. Beekeeping, canning, gardening and many other projects keep Tommy busy when he isn’t writing or working. If he’s not out hiking, he can be found spending time with his two amazing daughters and with his neighbors and friends. For news and updates, please visit www.treestonevillage.com. Tommy loves to hear from his readers, so please feel free to send an email info@treestonevillage.com.
