In Canberra, Australia the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany has been terror-bombed twice, and twice very successfully... The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation’s (ASIO’s) best secret agent, Luthan Fennes—aka the ‘Retimer’, who ‘has his life-times again’, so to speak—is called in to investigate what, at first, seems the reprisal by human traffickers against Police raids recently on corrupt embassy staff accepting bribes for European Union travel visas. But it soon becomes a tug-of-war between two great old-war foes on the world stage...with Fennes both in the midst of it all, and as the key to ending the crisis before one of the sides can go much too far—nuclear with the help of its rogue satellite state, North Korea...

This book has Luthan Fennes in the field in a particularly world-stage setting. Listed in Best Books, Recommended, in the Kirkus Reviews web site.About the Author:
Michael Angliss is an Australian writer of fiction international espionage thrillers. His first published novel in the acclaimed Retimer spy series is World by Storm, which is based on Vernon Phillips, a fictional secret agent in World War II's Nazi Germany. But Michael Angliss is best known for his contemporary fictional espionage protagonist, Luthan Fennes, the Retimer, whose mentor and idol is the old wartime spy Vernon Phillips. Michael's shorter works have been published in the small press, medium-circulation newspapers, and won placings in literary competitions. Most of his novels in the future will be espionage thrillers in the Retimer series. In his early forties, he is an officer of the federal Australian Public Service with tertiary qualifications and experience in professional writing and both the security and private investigations industries. He likes to read the novels of Alistair MacLean, Alan Furst, Tom Clancy, Frederick Forsyth, et al. A note on Michael's authorial style: in all his books, in order of proportion, adventure, action and suspense come first and with high stakes extending across international borders; next gadgets and espionage; followed, usually, by some love-interest sex and light romance. The writing is always quasi-literary, and the language level is always sans serious expletives or profanity. As professional reviews of Michael's work come in, they will be posted here in his Author Page. He lives in Melbourne with his wife.
