David Strickland was born in London, educated in England and is a naturalized American citizen. In an eventful life he has had many jobs ranging from bank clerk, boatyard manager and New York city dog walker to magazine editor. However, his main occupation, and the love of his life, has been sailing in which profession he has worked as a yacht delivery skipper, crossed the Atlantic ten times and chartered in the Virgin Islands, Barbados and St Maarten. After living at various times in New York, Spain and the Caribbean, he now resides in Florida and calls himself a freelance writer.
