"I didn't ask for any of this to happen. I never asked to be a prodigy. But I guess things happen for a reason..." For 300 years, people have been waiting desperately for The Paragon to fulfill the ancient prophecy and bring down the evil Praevalens Corporation. To protect against its own destruction, Praevalens created a test for all 18-year-olds to take. Get anything below the average score and you're doomed. Anything between the average and highest score and you get a job. But if your score is too high and Praevalens thinks you might be The Paragon, then you're good as dead. Eighteen-year old Katy Dawson wasn't ready for her life to take a drastic turn, but with help from an unexpected ally she’s able to stay under the radar, for a while at least. Now working alongside the most hated man in the world, Katy struggles to keep her identity as The Paragon a secret. But when she encounters Praevalens’ most powerful enemy, an underground rebel group, Katy realizes she can’t let fear get in the way of doing what she knows is right. Fans of the Divergent and Legend series will devour The Paragon, Mina Hart’s debut work.

Mina Hart thought books were boring until she picked up Percy Jackson’s The Lightning Thief in middle school. Instantly hooked on reading, Mina devoured the Divergent and Legend trilogies in short order and began weaving her own tales where she could create new worlds and play around inside them. And, what began as a four-page assignment in her freshman English class blossomed into her first novella, The Paragon. She may not be a morning person, but when Mina does get up and going, she enjoys acting and singing as well as writing. Mina’s a not-so-simple high school student from Southern California, where she lives with her family and their pet Pekingese.
