Mark C. Olds has evolved as a sage voice of leadership in the African American community and beyond. His emergence has been spurred by a unique and widespread collection of life experiences, has gained him respect and influence in the academic, faith, political, and prison environs. He has earned a Master of Nonprofit Organizations degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He did post graduate studies at Case’s history department. He did doctoral studies in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Specialization in Public Policy/Health at the Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is always striving for new plateaus to enhance the quality of life for all humanity. He has founded a number of other nonprofit organizations that have had local and national impact. His latest endeavor, the Midwest Minority Think Tank for Public Policy, Leadership, and Service, LLC., (The Think Tank) holds the promise of transformation for a people and generations to come. He has taken the stand to set forth an institution with “A Solutions Strategy” impetus. The solutions will come with a defined strategy to move from idea to implementation. The goal is to have an institution that allows any member to set forth a solution that can help elevate the whole of society. The Think Tank for will not make official statements on any issue, without a solution attached. Public policy makers, leadership figures, and those who purport to serve will no longer find refuge behind mounds of political rhetoric or mountains of in-effective verbosity. By setting forth doable and workable solutions in a format easily comprehensible by the general population, The Think Tank shall make it impossible to say that there was no solution. He continues to fearlessly launch radical thoughts that cause some degree of a status quo implosion. He states, “My energy should resolve a conundrum rather than promote a dialogue continuum. An issue’s origin or any potential negative fallout should not commandeer a creative people’s impetus. I cannot sit idle (imprisoned or liberated) and watch the Civil Rights Movement’s gains slowly undergo erosion. To assume a passive observer’s role, I would have betrayed my elders and committed treason against the progeny of my people.” He has repeatedly refused an onlooker’s demeanor. He serves as an instrument to set forth radical concepts and revolutionary initiatives to uplift the imperfect people and the impoverished people.
