The third installment of the Demonslayer Chronicles takes place two generations before the events that spanned the previous two books. In it we are introduced to Ardrian, a prince infamous for his roguish behavior but possessing a heroic destiny beyond his imagination. Feeling unloved by his father King Adrias, Ardrian demands a diplomatic post in the far-off kingdom of Ursulus. There he becomes embroiled in the political intrigues of a kingdom teeming with internal strife. Romance, war, and deception drive the young prince on toward his destiny. Through tragedy Ardrian finds the courage to rise from scoundrel to hero. Daring grave peril he confronts the hosts of a demonic army and claims his place in history as a Demonslayer.
