Ray McCune claims to be an import from the fictitious little town of PeeWaTa Falls buried in the central hills of West Virginia. He is a former Associate Editor with The Waynedale News in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He has lived in Indiana since 1965. He retired from a less rewarding job after 28 years of service with a local telephone company and took to his lifelong dream of being a full time Outdoor Freelance Writer and author. He currently contributes articles and columns to outdoor publications and has authored a book of humor and a child’s Christmas book before writing this one. He is a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam era where he was a Radar Electronics Technician aboard a Tin Can (Destroyer) home ported in Hawaii. He is a long term Boy Scout leader and has been a Scoutmaster of two different troops. He often gives demonstrations on Dutch oven cooking and knot tying to Boy Scouts or other interested groups.
