This autobiographical memoir traces the life of JC Edwards from his birth in Madison County, North Carolina, to his childhood growing up with a single mother a rural mountain community, to his college education, to his enlistment and training as a Naval Aviation cadet in World War II, to his move to Raleigh after the war, to the fortuitous meeting of his wife, to his career as an Engineer and General Contractor, to his raising of a family, and as a world traveler. It is the story of an ordinary man's truly fabulous journey. It is a story of faith and family, courage and conviction, loyalty and gumption. In short, it is a memoir of the 20th century American dream.
