Thirteen-year-old Eric Johnson never wanted to move out of Philadelphia. But the untimely death of his parents left him little choice in the matter and dropped him in the farm country outside the Lehigh Valley, an hour away from his old home, living with an aunt and uncle he barely knew. Used to the big city with its constant action and excitement, Eric found the slow pace of the rolling farms frustrating. He kept looking for ways to move back to the city, back to his friends and all his familiar activities. But when Eric helped a tall, blond-haired stranger escape from a pack of wild dogs, he took the first step in an adventure that took him out of the mundane world of Eastern Pennsylvania and dropped him in the middle of Norse mythology; right in the middle of a centuries old war between the Norse Gods and their ancient enemy, the Frost Giants. Eric traveled to Asgard, the home of the Aesir, the people of Norse legends. There he met rock dwarves, creatures barely four feet high who looked like mobile bounders and helped the Aesir dig through the ground for materials to make their weapons. He met Valkyr, the shield maidens of legend who rode huge white stallions and served as scouts for the Aesir. And Eric met Odin Allfather, the leader of the Aesir. But will the knowledge of one young boy be enough to help the Aesir recover three magical weapons stolen by the Giants, and enough to stop a massive invasion of Asgard by a Giant army: an invasion that will destroy Asgard forever and leave Earth at the mercy of a Giant invasion

About the Author:

Jack Hillman is a rather mundane individual who lives in a cave on the west side of the Lehigh Valley. Working as a mild mannered mortality underwriter by day, Jack leaves his office each night to enter the secret confines of his dark lair where he creates strange and ominous creatures who conspire in even more strange and ominous ways to rule the universe or destroy mankind, all while comparing notes on recipes for chocolate soufflÚs. In his alter-ego as a mild-mannered reporter, Jack has written over 2500 non-fiction articles over the past twenty years, including several medical articles based on his background as a clinical psychologist specializing in abnormal psychology. Due to a computer glitch which released supposedly secure information to the world, Jack has seen over four dozen short stories, four stage plays, several poems and five novels published or performed for consumption by unsuspecting citizens of this and several other planets. In his spare time, Jack herds cats and collects obscure weapons for use in his literary works.
