Your Hair, My Hair is a story about a little girl named Samantha who learns about the physical differences between herself and her peers with child's play with dolls. The story is very simple. I intended to pull normal childhood experiences from the early stages from the women in my life. My oldest sister and mother both share similar stories about their interactions about their physical appearance. Even still in 2015, there still hasn't been a consistent dialogue between adults and children about the difference in racial and cultural backgrounds. I want to present an alternative by helping those understand cultural diversity in the classroom and in their everyday life. At the young age when children discover their own independence and begin inquiring within, they find themselves faced with questions their peers are unsure how to answer. My goal of this book is to provide a positive message of self respect and appreciation towards everyone. I try to bridge the gap between child and adult by examining different racial and cultural groups by using pleasant imagery and simple dialogue throughout the book. I also try to include a poem that establishes love and acceptance of all people.

AJ's Kid's Tales is a combination of stories and illustrations created and inspired by personal life experiences. A.J was born Aaron Jeffrey Spencer, born out of Stockton, California. The youngest of the children. Graduating from Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD), Laguna Beach, CA, majoring in Animation, he spent years trying to find himself artistically. He spent his years developing other interest such as film directing, illustration, graphic design, fine arts painting and now combining his passions of writing and illustration towards children's books. There isn't much left that Aaron can't do creatively, but his tenacity and determination makes him very unique person. Due to his high level or artistic ability, he suffered early on in academics. Embarrassed by his slow progression in reading and writing because I got letters and numbers confused, I later learned as a adult that it stemmed from dyslexia. Because of his determination, he went through school with it being unnoticed. It wasn't until his adult years he was able to speak fully about this disability. Now working as a production artist and a freelancer in Culver City, CA his other creative passions have led him to children's books. He took to his journals and sketch books to write stories of his life, his journey, his experiences. By telling your own stories in the way you only feel you should share them has been might be his best work because it might help inspire others out there. From the Saturday cartoons to the Disney movies, Aaron has finally taken the next step to self publish his own collections of kid's tales. Aaron wants to write stories of all ages. Writing stories that he can relate to and possibly others, he feels that there are many more stories out there that need to be told. Hopefully, by writing these stories, he can inspire this younger generation to tell their own tales.
