Synopsis
When another hunter intentionally kills his hunting dog during a pheasant hunt in North Dakota, P.J. Sanders’s grief is immense. It takes eighteen months before he and his wife, Cindy, decide to open their hearts and their home to another dog.
This time, though, Sanders decides to go for a heartier breed—something able to hunt with him throughout the frigid Wisconsin winters. He finds a breeder of German Wirehaired Pointers and, a few months later, a young puppy named Josie joins the family.

About the Author
P.J. Sanders is a retired teacher, counselor, and elementary school principal.
He lives with his wife, Cindy, and his dog, Josie, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Josie came into Sanders's life after his first dog was shot and killed by another hunter in North Dakota.
