Elisabeth Davis’ grandmother, Annie Hay Mackie Cordiner, was the last schoolmistress of Sliddery Schoolhouse on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. Davis has spent many happy weeks on Arran, the island her mother loved. She is a retired college English professor and current watercolor illustrator. Her first children’s book was Harley, The Throwaway Puppy, and she is also the author/illustrator of five other books, including Brae and the Mystery of Arran. All proceeds from her books and artwork are donated to animal rescues. Davis resides in the U.S. with her husband, three grown children, five grandchildren, and her little dog Pippen.
