Banshees, dragons and evil wizards should have been enough to make life difficult for Niamh and Grady O’Connell. The second book in the Nearworld Tales brings the magical siblings face to face with family mysteries they could never have suspected. Just how much have their parents been hiding from them? And who is the lady in red that haunts the forests of the lake? Just to make things even tougher, their new found powers are starting to take over their lives in strange and frightening ways. Azrael's Twins and the Circle of Stone is the second book in the Nearworld Tales by Irish-New Zealand author Vincent Mortimer. Living in Christchurch the writing of this book has been fitted in around rebuilding after the Christchurch earthquakes of 2011. Writing time is shared with his two children who were the inspiration for the Azrael's Twins stories. Vincent was born in Ireland but emigrated to New Zealand at a young age. The stories and the world of Azrael's Twins are built on Irish mythology but set in the landscape of New Zealand. The lake at the heart of the second Azrael's Twins novel exists in the real world in a landscape not that dissimilar to the land of his roots - though the mountains are somewhat taller! Vincent is currently working on the third book in the Azrael's Twins series - Azrael's Twins and the Path of the Oceans. The journey he is being taken on by Niamh and Grady O'Connell as they face the challenges of the Nearworld has many more twists to take.
