Born in Germany and settling in Northern Virginia, Robb grew up surrounded by music and comes from a family that has produced music teachers and performers at every turn. He and his siblings were always encouraged to play the myriad instruments in the house, and they often did, regardless of their expertise, or lack thereof. After moving to Blue Mountain (in the Shenandoah), Robb began writing poetry as an exercise for writing lyrics. Eventually, with a new-found vision of his life and what is important to him, Robb found that the poetry "sort of took off." After he shared some of his "pomes" (as he calls them) with his friends, they strongly suggested that he gather them all up and compile them for this book.
